House Slab Poured and Ready for the Next Phase

The house slab is down on this new home build, and it's one of those milestones that just feels good. Everything that comes after - the framing, the walls, the roof - it all sits on what we pour right here. So we don't rush it, and we don't cut corners on prep.

Here's the thing most people don't think about until it's too late: a slab that's poorly prepped or inconsistently poured creates problems for every single trade that follows. Doors that won't hang right. Floors that crack. Walls that shift. The foundation work has to be done right the first time because fixing it later is not really an option.

That's why prep matters as much as the pour itself. The gravel base, the form work, the rebar placement - all of it has to be dialed in before the pump truck ever pulls up. We run a concrete boom pump to place the concrete precisely where it needs to go, which keeps the pour controlled and consistent across the entire slab.

Once the house slab cured, the site was already being staged for what's next - the garage slab and porches are up next. Each section gets the same attention. Same process. No shortcuts just because it's "only" a garage or a porch. It all connects back to the same structure, and it all has to hold up for decades.

Good concrete work is about more than just the mix. It's about knowing how each piece of the foundation fits together and what the builder needs from us to keep the schedule moving. That's what we bring to every pour.
