





Every solid build starts somewhere. For us, that somewhere is always the floor. Before walls go up, before anything gets finished out, the concrete has to be right. Cut corners here and you're setting up every phase of construction to fail down the line.
Here's what went into this one. We started with a proper vapor barrier and a full rebar grid laid across the entire slab area - that reinforcement is what keeps the floor from cracking under load over time. Then came the pour itself, done with a concrete hose to move material efficiently across the space. The crew worked it from the far end forward, keeping a consistent flow and making sure nothing was left unworked.
Once the concrete was down and screeded out, we brought in a ride-on power trowel to finish the surface. That machine is what takes a rough, freshly poured slab and turns it into a smooth, dense floor that's actually usable. It's a step a lot of crews skip or rush - we don't. The finish on this slab came out clean across the full span of the building.
This is the kind of work that doesn't get a lot of attention because it ends up hidden under everything else. But anyone who's dealt with a cracked or uneven concrete floor knows exactly how much it matters. Getting the foundation right is what allows the rest of the steel frame building to come together the way it's supposed to - no surprises, no callbacks, no headaches later.
